BIO

Eric Esquer was born in Stanford hospital in California. He grew up in the central valley of California with the farmers and the mexicans, and barely escaped the clutches of gangster life in Stockton, California where gangs are born.   At the age of 5, he pointed at the tv, and said- "One day I'm gonna do that!"    And he hasn't looked back since.

In high school is where he first gained the confidence to try-out for a theater play.   Success! From there he went on to college at California State University Sacramento www.csus.edu  where he was in many theater performances including; Danny and the Deep Blue Sea, Burn This, and The Time of Your Life.   After graduating with a bachelors degree in Drama, he performed in several regional theater plays.  The one he is most proud of is his performance as Val in Tennessee Williams' Orpheus Descending.

His move to San Diego shortly after proved to be a successful advance toward his film career.  There, he managed to get theatrical representation with his first film and television agent- Artist Management Agency  www.artistmanagementagency.com.   Many open doors became available during these years in San Diego, and Eric was then able to gain representation with HRI Talent Agency in Los Angeles, Ca. hritalent.com.

One year went by, and after much deliberation, Eric decided to follow his heart and move to the great state of Tennessee where he nearly figured he would have to give up the craft of acting altogether.

His disbelief in the prevalence of film and television work in Tennessee, married with idea that his relationship to the woman in his life caused him to disengage from acting for a short time.

He played pool and smoked cigars, and was relatively happy.  But it wasn't long before his thirst to create and perform had become a paralyzing effect in his everyday life.

That's when he reached out to Talent Trek Agency in Nashville www.talenttrek.com with hopes of rescue.  A few small roles in local commercials, and some pretty decent auditions for major castings in big-budget films proved to be the sort of rescue that he was looking for.  His spirit came back, and a break-up proved to be what he needed to decide to move to Atlanta where he knew the film community was growing stronger. Houghton Talent houghtontalent.com would soon represent him for film, television, and commercial.

In Atlanta, over a four year period, Eric has been blessed with many opportunities in his career.  He has been in Drop Dead Diva, Tyler Perry's The Havs and the Have Nots, Revolution on NBC, Powers, and Your Worst Nightmare.   Recently he was cast in a feature film known as Finding Steve McQueen.

Eric is also responsible for the founding of Actors Anonymous- a small exclusive group of actors who work regularly to better their skills and support each other in a very demanding and cut-throat business.  He plans to continue his career in Atlanta until the next adventure comes along.
